What will a “utopia” look like 20 years from now in this chaotic world? And what do we need to realize a bright future?

Synopsis

In 2047, Kunugi Mina washes ashore on Atlantis, a hidden, self-sufficient artificial island in the Pacific Ocean. It was a place built by idealistic visionaries to avoid interference from major powers.

Welcomed by the community leader Salma, Mina claims to be a journalist, but is actually a Japanese intelligence agent sent to investigate this utopia.

Atlantis has ended five years of isolation since its founding, inviting 100 guests from various countries. Mina becomes close with Jonathan, an American, and Sati, an Indian, but soon learns that they too are undercover agents after the island’s secrets.

The three are overwhelmed by the island’s advanced technology, especially the “Cells” (modular robots that can “reconfigure” into humanoid robots, horses, buildings, etc.) and the “Shell” (a neck-worn device that replaces smartphones). Cells are physical AI agents, or “Physical AI Agents.”

To uncover the island’s ultimate secret, the three infiltrate deeper into the island. What will they see there?

This film makes it clear that “AI helps humans, but it is neither a friend nor a hero.” It also shows that physical AI should not look too much like humans or animals. The protagonists are strictly human.
